Velicham Farmer Producer Company Limited was established in Cuddalore District, covering Kurinjipadi and Bhuvanagiri Blocks, with support from NABARD to promote animal husbandry activities. Initially, 10 village panchayats were identified through consultations with local communities to select beneficiaries, including small and marginal farmers, wage laborers, and women members from SHGs and JLGs. A total of 500 women beneficiaries were enrolled in the program. With training on scientific dairy farming and value-added products, provided by Tamil Nadu Veterinary University experts, 150 trainees received financial support from Indian Bank branches in Kurinjipadi and Bhuvanagiri to engage in livelihood activities. Additionally, a Mazanine loan from NABKISON was granted to 20 beneficiaries, providing Rs. 20,000 each for the construction of sheds and animal maintenance, further strengthening their economic activities.
